On August 21, 2026, Galaxy Robot Park in Godeok, Gangdong District, Seoul held its grand opening. Twenty thousand people had already been through before it officially opened. It was the day Physical AI walked out of the lab and the industrial floor and became a place you buy a ticket to enter.

Across the two-month pre-opening that began in July, every advance ticket sold out, and 20,000 visitors came through before the official launch. It started with 8,000 reservations. Seats kept filling for the length of the pre-opening, and that number more than doubled.

What makes the figure matter is its character. These were not guests at a technology demo but ticket buyers who picked a date and came. It means a robot show holds up as paid content rather than a free spectacle — and that was settled before the doors officially opened.

The grand opening brought the whole venue into full operation. Seventeen new robots joined, and with the restaurant, bakery, café and ice cream shop starting regular service, all 16,500 m² (5,000 pyeong) opened up.

The Robot Arena — group dance, taekwondo and a story

The heart of the park is the 'Robot Arena.' On opening day, humanoid robots took the stage with large-scale group choreography set to YENA's 'Catch Catch,' BIGBANG's 'BANG BANG BANG' and ROSÉ and Bruno Mars' 'APT.' — real K-pop routines carried over onto robot bodies.

Human dancers and robots also shared the stage. In a number built on taekwondo movements, a robot landed a roundhouse kick and the seats erupted. It is the move that makes balance control hardest, performed in front of an audience with no second attempt.

What stands out is that the show had a story. Stella, a robot left alone on the 'Planet of Loneliness,' watches the other robots perform and finds joy and courage again. A robot executing a movement precisely and an audience feeling something for that robot are two different problems, and choreography data alone does not solve the second.

The robots moving through this space run on character robots and a robot operating system (OS) developed in-house by Galaxy Corporation. These are bodies designed not to be sold as hardware, but to exist as characters on a stage.

Step outside the show and everyday life is waiting

The grand opening changed more than the scale. It changed the relationship.

With 17 new robots on board, robots now draw visitors' portraits, make ice cream and play the piano. A new interactive program in which visitors control the robots and engage with them directly has opened as well. During the pre-opening, what families responded to most were the attractions within arm's reach — robot boxing, hugging robots, drawing robots — and the grand opening extends that direction.

It is a move from robots you watch to robots you enjoy alongside. That difference goes straight to the definition of Physical AI. AI on a screen is something the user picks up as a tool; AI that has gained a robot's body becomes a presence sharing the same space. A robot that draws your portrait and a robot that hands you an ice cream show that coexistence in its most immediately legible form.
