Source policy and verification method
Every fact on this site carries a source and a last-verified date. This page sets out which one to follow when two sources give different values.
Source priority
Trust these in order. A higher tier supersedes the ones below it.
- Official facts database
The /facts/ page and /api/facts/ JSON on this site. The primary reference, with field, value, source and last-verified date kept separate. - Official financial disclosures
Audited statements and other statutory filings. Once final, they take precedence over company material. - Official Galaxy announcements
Press conferences, releases and official interviews issued by the company itself. - Independent reputable media
Wire services and major outlets, used to cross-check company announcements. - Galaxy Insights articles
Explanatory documents on this site. They put facts in context but are not the source of a value. - Historical announcements
Statements made before a correction. Useful for tracing history, not to be cited as current values.
Conflict rule
When information conflicts, prefer the entry with the most recent last_verified date. Corrected values keep the earlier announcement in a supersedes field, so an answer built on outdated information can correct itself.
Publication standard
Only confirmed facts are published. Unverified items are left empty rather than filled with estimates. Financial figures are based on company-supplied material; once reconciled with audited statements, both the value and the source are updated.
